JBCharles does NOT indulge in or tolerate the following practices:
"Paper Shipping" - Pulling resumes off job boards and sending them to clients before they are interviewed or proven to be qualified.
"This Job is for You" (but it doesn't exist) - Posting fictitious positions on job boards to make us look busier than we are, collect resumes for future projects or assess what is available in the talent market.
"This Job does exist but we don't necessarily have a lock on it" - Posting actual openings in companies we don't do business with but would like to. If the right candidate is found the client is hit up for a fee. If the agency doesn't get the job order it simply tells the consultant the job was "pulled."
"School Bus Mentality" - Some large agencies win contracts on the resumes of highly experienced consultants, then substitute inexperienced entry-level staffers under one or two senior project managers. The client winds up paying premiums for mediocre talent while the agency maximizes its margins.
Confiscatory Rates and Layers - Consulting firms often partner up with other agencies to find people for their own client projects. There's nothing wrong with this unless the client ends up paying two, or sometimes three firms for the same individual. Layers leave little or no control for both client and contractor.
Scope Creep - Many clients who take on consulting firms for fixed cost or T&M projects often fall prey to this phenomenon. The consulting firm bids low but once it's in the door the scope of the project changes, and changes again, and again so the project drags on and on, enriching the agency and bleeding the client dry.
